PolicyBuilder enters beta
A free tool that turns a short set of questions about your organisation into a draft AI use policy - a starting point for a board conversation, not a finished position.
PolicyBuilder is now available in beta. It is free, it takes about fifteen minutes, and it produces a draft AI use policy written for your organisation rather than a generic template with your name pasted into the header.
The reason it exists is simple. Almost every organisation we speak to knows it needs a position on AI use, and almost none of them have one. The blocker is rarely disagreement about what the policy should say. It is that nobody has the time to start from a blank page, and the templates available online are either written for a different jurisdiction, a different sector, or an organisation twenty times the size.
PolicyBuilder asks you what you actually do, who is affected, and what you are already exposed to. It then drafts the policy from your answers, in language a non-specialist can read. You get something you can put in front of a board, a trustee group, or a team meeting and argue about properly, which is a great deal further on than a blank page.
What beta means here
It means the tool works and the output is usable, but the drafting is still being tuned against real use. If you run it and the result is wrong for your context, we would genuinely like to hear about it - that feedback is what moves it out of beta.
It also means this is a starting point, not a finished governance position. A policy is a statement of intent. Keeping it true is a separate discipline, which is what Minimum Viable Governance is for.
